CYPRESSWOOD SHARKS COACHES

The Sharks have a new head coach this year, Jim Sharp,
who is the head swim coach at Klein Forest High School

Coach Jim grew up overseas in Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, where he competed in swimming for the local American schools.  After returning to the United States, he competed on swimming and water polo teams in Anaheim, California for Katella High School.  Once graduating from high school, he attended Texas A&M University and started his coaching career in 1993 with the Westador Waves swim team.  Since that time, he has coached Terra Nova, Terra Nova West, Champions Park, Spring Creek Oaks, and Cypresswood summer league swim teams. He has been the current head coach at Klein Forest High School for the past four years.

It is my pleasure to join the Cypresswood Sharks this year.  I grew up a swimmer, learning how at the age of four.  My love of the sport continued to blossom as I grew older and I started swimming for summer leagues in 1985.  When I reached Kleb Intermediate in 1988, I joined the swim team and loved it!  That passion followed me to Klein High School.  Last yeat was my first experience coaching a summer league team, and I helped out at Spring Creek Oaks.  I am currently the JV swimming coach and head diving coach at Klein Forest High School.  I enjoyed my days as a swimmer and I’m thrilled to continue with the sport from the deck.  I look forward to a very exciting and successful summer!  GO SHARKS!!!!
